Catherine Charrett-Dykes is President, founder and CEO of Chronic Migraine Awareness, Inc. established in 2009 and in 2012 it received non-profit status. CMA currently has over 50,000 members on social media and includes various online support and education groups. Other programs and initiatives include ARMS Advocates Removing Migraine Stigma, Support Squad, Triage Kit, Care Partners and being involved with Migraine and Headache Awareness Month. Chronic Migraine Awareness, Inc initiated Chronic Migraine Awareness Day on June 29th to bring awareness to this debilitating disease.
Catherine has been a patient advocate since 2009 and now oversees more than 50 volunteers at CMA. She has been interviewed for multiple publications, including News 12’s Hero of Long Island in 2012. Along with CMA, Catherine’s collaborations include partnering with several non-profit organizations such as CHAMP (Coalition of Headache and Migraine Patients), National Headache Foundation, Global Healthy Living Foundation and Association of Migraine/Shades for Migraine. This year marks Chronic Migraine Awareness’s ten year anniversary recently held a street fair in celebration.
Catherine lives with chronic migraine, is a wife and mother to two children, she also holds two black belts in martial arts.
