Headache on the Hill is fast approaching and I am so honored to be attending.
I am looking forward to not only meeting my fellow migraine warriors, but also learning from them. I am newer to advocating for migraine and this opportunity is monumental for me.
This sounds kind of weird to say, but I am thankful for’ the beast ‘ because it has led me to all of you. No, I haven’t met most of the people with whom I speak to online but I don’t know what I would do without them!
So to get back to the original subject, #HOH2020 is only 3 weeks away and I want to learn as much as I can. I am beginning to research the senators and representatives that I will be meeting with so that I will know alittle bit about their lives before I meet them. I hope to educate them about migraine disease and the strain it puts on so many of us, our families and our careers. I also look forward to educating them on our (the migraine community) specific ‘ask’ for 2020.
To be honest, I feel like Advocacy is my calling. I have never felt more fulfilled! I love speaking with all of you and hearing your stories. Each time we share our story, we gain strength. Let’s be strong!! Let’s tell anyone willing to listen our story! In my experience, there are more people that don’t understand migraine than do, and I must admit that I did not understand chronic intractable migraine until it happened to me. I have had episodic migraine since I was twelve years old and still didn’t understand that someone could be chronic.
My next few weeks will be filled with research and learning but I embrace the challenge. I am honored to represent my state of Ohio and Chronic Migraine Awareness Inc. I will be posting my experiences during and after attending, so stay tuned!
I would love to hear who all is going! Drop me a dm to let me know if you will be there and I will look for you!
See you in DC!!!
